Hey Brothers,
I've spent the last week flying from Seattle, to Sacramento, to Kentucky, to Berlin, to Kuwait, to Qatar, to Baghdad, to Balad Air Base, my final destination.
I'm working in the Ramp Terminal her at the Aerial Port. Basically when a cargo plane flies in, we go out, unload the cargo, upload what needs to fly out, and send the plane on its way. 50% of the planes that we get here are US military, and the rest are these Russian pieces of crap. They're trying to limit the amount of convoys delivering goods, so they're flying everything by cargo plane. Half of the flights going out are bid on by international contractors, which are flying it around in IL-76 (pieces of crap) cargo planes or DC8's. The Russian crews are out of their minds. It's like the wild wild west of aerial delivery.
I'm working 12 hour days, from noon to midnight, which goes by really quickly.
I've been looking for a Lodge here on base, but I haven't even had time to do laundry yet.
I'll keep you guys informed with what's going on during my deployment. My address here is (in case you have any extra cookies that you need to dispose of :
SGT Greg Roberts

Take care, guys and I'll write back soon.
